Wamunyiri R.C primary school is a government Roman Catholic sponsored school on a 1.05ha pieceof land in Bungoma County Bumula sub-county and Kabula ward.
It is along Kabula Pastoral road off Bungoma-Mumias tarmacked to the East of about 1.5km. The school started in early 1980s with there pioneer candidates sitting for KCPE in the year 1987. It started with only a single class with two teachers and about 35 pupils.
It acquired its resources and buildings to support its well move from the community members. It is a mixed day school. Wamunyiri is a Bukusu name that meanscoldness. It’s a name of a stream found in the area on the south of the school where the children from school used to fetch water in old days for the school that It acquired the name from.
The school caters for the education of young children from the community.The school since its time, it has produced more prominent persons both in the national government and the county government. The pioneer pupils work both within and out the country in different capacities.
Currently the school has about 534 pupils with 12 government teachers (4 male teachers and 8 female) and a humble structures of 10 rooms accommodating the ECDE and primary pupils from standard 1 to 8. The school has been having a positive deviation in its performance posting the mean mark of 240 with more than 4 pupils at least scoring above 250 and above marks in their final exams.The top candidates have joined national schools, extra county schools and most of them to the county schools of which they still shine in their performance.
